Westpac Head Office, Sydney
In reviewing and designing over $5 million worth of joinery at Westpac's new head office site, we completed more than 700 detailed shop drawings covering some 90 tea points and four highly detailed floor fit outs. The fit outs involved extensive wall panelling, meeting room credenzas, reception desks, extensive banquette seating, columns and miscellaneous joinery.
Lines of communication were open at all times between the client (Westpac), Leightons (Builders), APP (Project Managers), Geyers (Architects) and ourselves to ensure our contribution to the project was delivered on time and to budget.
TESTIMONIAL:
I found the H Dallas Project Team to be one of the most professional and client focused contractors I have come across. Laurie and Steve in particular went the extra mile to ensure the client's aspirations were met and used their experience to detail solutions that delivered results within budget. All in all I found H Dallas a pleasure to work with and I look forward to working with them again in the near future or recommending them to others.

Sydney Opera House's Utzon Room, Sydney
In reflecting Utzon's original vision, we laid intricate timber flooring in the structure's Utzon Room (previously known as the Reception Hall) . The complexity of the work stemmed from the room's size, the sub-floor structure and floor flatness required. A unique 'soap wash' finish was then applied to the timber. This project saw the first use of this type of timber finish within Australia.
One of the primary challenges of the project was to design and build a movable operable wall. This unit weighed a hefty 2000 kilograms and had to be designed so it could be operated by only two people. We built a sub-floor track and metal frame fully clad in timber so the unit, when retracted into the main wall, formed part of the main northern feature wall.
Another significant joinery item we constructed was the 14 metre long, hand-crafted timber feature wall that serves as the main support structure for the iconic Utzon Tapestry.
TESTIMONIAL:
We have had the pleasure of working with H Dallas Industries on several of our projects. They include 363 George Street, Sydney Opera House's Utzon Room and box office toilets, Westpac new headquarters at Westpac Place and our own Johnson Pilton Walker office fit out at Plaza Building, Australia Square. Our fit out won two awards at the 2006 Interior Design Awards and we would like to share this recognition with the team at H Dallas for all the effort and advice they gave the project.
The professional approach of Laurie and his team is a significant factor to the success that we all share on these projects.
